Hi, my name is Lark Brewer! I am a retro illustrator from Tulsa, OK. I have always been in love with nostalgia and vintage things. My earliest examples of this deep rooted joy include watching black and white shows such as the Beverly Hillbillies, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and I Love Lucy at probably 6 or 7 years old. After that, my passion for the retro things of life continued as I discovered and fell in love with Oldies music like The Beach Boys, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra (just to name a few of my favorite artists). The nostalgia that “old” styles bring me delivers a sort of comfort, wholesomeness, and happiness that I hope shines through in all my lil’ doodles. If you love what I do, I hope you follow me on Facebook and Instagram @larkbrewerdesign ! I update my feed regularly with neat things that I bet you’d like.
Lark Brewer graduated from John Brown University with a degree in Graphic Design, minoring in Illustration. In addition to freelance illustration, Lark is currently enjoying her part time job teaching art to students in Pre-K through high school.
“As Program Director, I hired Lark to design the summer logo for Camp Loughridge in 2019. Working with her was a refreshing experience, as she exceeded deadlines, brought a high level of creativity, was timely in her communication, and was very receptive to collaborative feedback. Lark immediately grasped the loose vision I provided and presented six extremely high quality mock-ups for me to review. Among our focus groups, each one design was equally favored for the detail, colors, personalization to our camp, and overall spirit. I look forward to working with Lark again, as her talents blend professional graphic design with a creative investment not just in the product, but in the company for which she is working. I fully endorse her, as working with her produced a superior product.”
“5 stars! Lark was FANTASTIC to work with. She already had a great style, so direction needed was very minimal and what direction there was she was quick to respond with a positive attitude and turned the work around quickly. More importantly she was flexible to my frantic schedule and was patient when I couldn’t get back right away, which was very much appreciated on my end, while trying to get multiple projects done. The end results were great! We are very happy with Lark’s work and would hire again. I guess we technically we did. This was the second project of a series. Not only would I hire Lark again, I hope that I have the opportunity to do so. Thank you, Lark!”
“Lark was great to work with and the work she produced exceeded expectations. In fact, it went so well that the I continued to do more work with her beyond the initial scope. Her attention to detail and ability to meet agreed upon deadlines made it all the more enjoyable.”
“Lark was wonderful to work with! I commissioned her for a custom piece and was just blown away by her talent. She immediately saw “my vision” and worked with me on all the little details that make custom pieces so fun! I will definitely work with her again, and I look forward to seeing more of her unique blend of timeless yet modern designs!”
